Includes a bonus reading of An Open Letter to the Human Rights Movement
Greetings!
As indicated in a previous post, next week I am giving a keynote talk at FORGE at NYU Law School in New York City. As part of my preparation, I read aloud my open letter to the human rights movement and I have shared the one-take recording below. There may be a few blemishes, but the main point of recording the audio was to help me feel into the writing process again, and remind myself what mattered most to me in what I am trying to argue there. The reading took over fifty minutes, which surprised me. I have just a twenty-minute slot in New York and I want to explore terrain that is not in the letter, so the challenge now is focus, distillation and clarity of narrative.
The title of the talk is The Inner Life of the Future: Governing with Collapse and Transformation in Mind.
Wish me luck.
The first audio shares this context and the second audio is the full reading. If anyone manages to wade through the letter or the audio reading I would be very glad to hear back from you about the impression it made.
Until next time,
Jonathan +
